Jaboticaba Fruit trees grown from seed, 1-2 years old. Also known as brazilian grape. Rare fruit trees that can be grown and fruit in a pot. Great trees for container culture (patio growing), garden or food forest addition.

RED - hybrid cross, Dwarf variety. Begins fruiting around 3-4 years old and often produces 3-4 crops a year.

The red jaboticaba (Plinia cauliflora) is a tropical evergreen tree or shrub that produces edible, grape-like fruits that grow directly from its trunk

Fruit
The fruit is round and black, with a white pulp that is sweet, juicy, and gelatinous. The skin is slightly bitter due to its tannin content. The fruit tastes like a combination of grapes and cherries.

Tree
The tree is native to Brazil and Bolivia. It has white flowers that grow directly from the trunk. The tree can tolerate cooler winters and is hardy in zones 9-11.

Growing conditions
The tree prefers full to partial sun, with at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. It also prefers well-draining, slightly acidic soil with a pH level of 5.5 to 6.5.

Uses
The fruit can be eaten fresh, or used to make jams, jellies, wines, tarts, and liqueurs. The tree can be grown in tropical gardens, containers, patios, balconies, or indoors.

Watering
The tree is not drought tolerant, so it needs to be kept hydrated to ensure growth and fruiting.
